The PADI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the world’s most popular scuba certification course. Now is the time for you to dive into the course and begin your world of exploration underwater! Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and dive skills (techniques, methods).

How Does It Work?

After enrolling, each student completes the PADI eLearning (included in cost of class), including filling out the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter and take the required quizzes and final exam. Next, you will join our Thursday night orientation for your selected class, then you will complete the confined water pool sessions over the course of 1 weekend and four open water training dives the next weekend with your PADI Instructor. The open water dives are typically completed at Cultus Lake or one of our other many local lakes.

What Do I Need to Start?

To be a certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, you need to be at least 10 years old, fit for diving, and able to swim. Divers between the ages of 10 through 14 are certified as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver.

What Diving Equipment Will I Need?

Students are responsible for having a dive appropriate scuba mask, snorkel, fins and booties. Students receive a 15% discount on all of these required items when purchased through Central Oregon Diving.  All other neccessary scuba gear will be provided at no additional cost.  Students will also recieve a 15% student discount on all accessories for a period of 30 days from the date of your certification.
